Competitions (2005-2006)

 

Each year we run Dressage & Show Jumping competitions at Houston. These competitions are arranged by the "Friends of Houston" team.  To view the list of Past Trophy Winners please click here.

 

We will be publishing the Dressage times on the internet site this year. To access the times for the upcoming Dressage competition click on the Date in the schedule below. These will only be active from the weekend prior to the next Dressage competition.

The cost & start time are noted below;

* paid at event.

 

Show Jumping events commence at 6:00pm sharp. The Dressage events also commence at 6:30pm sharp.

** On Jumping evenings, if time allows and there is enough interest, we may add an extra class which could be a Chase me Charlie, Top Score or other. We would consider this a novelty class and as such points would not be gained, however, rosettes for first to sixth place would be awarded.

Chase Me Charlie

 

A single jump is built and each competitor takes a turn to jump it. The height of the jump is raised after everyone has completed one jump. Any refusal or knockdown means instant disqualification. The winner is the competitor who is able to jump the highest.

 


Jumping Entries

All entrants must pay and register their name for a class, prior to entering the arena.

For a set of Dressage Entry Forms send an A4 S.A.E. or call in at Houston Farm Riding School, 1 Houston Mains, Uphall, Broxburn, West Lothian, EH52 6JX or contact Christine by email at christine@scorpex.sol.co.uk.

Please note: You should check the relevant dressage times page a couple of nights prior to the event to confirm that no times have had to be changed.
